The Tuticorin Thermal Power Station is a coal-fired power station at Thoothukudi on the southern coast of Tamil Nadu. Its first unit was commissioned on 9 July 1979, followed by units in 1980 and 1982, and two more in 1991 and 1992. The plant is operated by the state's power generation utility.
