A glass-floored pedestrian bridge over the sea linking the Thiruvalluvar Statue and Vivekananda Rock Memorial was opened at Kanyakumari.

The Government of Tamil Nadu built a fibre-glass pedestrian bridge across the sea between the Thiruvalluvar Statue and the Vivekananda Rock Memorial off Kanyakumari. It was inaugurated on 30 December 2024; the statue itself had been unveiled on 1 January 2000. Before the bridge, visitors had to take a ferry between the two rocks. The bridge was described as the first of its kind in India.
