· Chennai
The DMK-led Secular Progressive Alliance won 38 of the 39 Lok Sabha seats in Tamil Nadu.
In the 2019 general election the DMK-led alliance, which included the Congress, Left parties, VCK and others, won 38 of Tamil Nadu's 39 Lok Sabha seats. The ruling AIADMK, allied with the BJP and PMK, won only Theni. Nationally the BJP-led NDA won a large majority, so the DMK sat in the opposition. The result was seen as an early test for the post-Jayalalithaa and post-Karunanidhi era.
