Kalaignar Centenary Library opens in Madurai

A large state-run public library named after M. Karunanidhi was opened in Madurai.

Chief Minister M. K. Stalin inaugurated the Kalaignar Centenary Library in Madurai on 15 July 2023, the birth anniversary of K. Kamaraj. The government-run library was built at a cost of about Rs 218 crore, with a basement, ground floor and six further floors. It opened with about 3.64 lakh books and facilities for children, students, researchers, job seekers and persons with disabilities.
