Tata Air Lines' inaugural air mail run from Karachi through Bombay went on to Madras, the first scheduled flight to touch down there.

J. R. D. Tata took off on 15 October 1932 in a Puss Moth loaded with air mail and flew it from Karachi to Bombay. Nevill Vintcent then piloted the same aircraft onward to Madras. After this, Tata Air Lines operated a weekly mail service linking Karachi and Madras by way of Ahmedabad and Bombay. Air India grew out of this airline.
