· Chennai

Jayalalithaa announced low-cost comprehensive health check-ups in government hospitals and twice-weekly tests at primary health centres.

In 2015 Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa announced the AMMA Master Health Check-Up plan in the Assembly as a preventive healthcare measure. It offered comprehensive health check-ups at low fees in government hospitals. Alongside it, the Amma Arogya plan allowed certain tests to be done at primary health centres twice a week. The schemes were aimed at people who could not afford check-ups in private hospitals.
