Kalki Krishnamurthy began serialising Sivagamiyin Sapatham, a historical novel set in the Pallava period.

Kalki Krishnamurthy, who founded Kalki magazine with T. Sadasivam in 1941, wrote a series of popular historical novels. Parthiban Kanavu was serialised from 16 October 1941 to 10 February 1943.
